“Growing Curiosity” is a collection of images of human trash found in abandoned areas of nature. Each image has drawings of organic features covering up said trash, but leaving just enough visual clarity for the viewer. Some trash is easier to point out than others, but overall it creates a feeling of searching through branches and leaves for something further beneath.
The artist, Maren Lawrence, has always been fascinated with abandoned human relics. From abandoned water parks, to broken houses, and simple trash, she can’t help but wonder how things got in their condition in the first place. This collection is a way for Lawrence to share her personal “growing curiosity” of finding these relics, hoping it will entice the same feeling in the viewer.
