Landscape is a picture, which includes a horizon with a wide view. There is not a specific subject. This makes everything in focus. It can be natural showing geophysical features, but can include man made features as well. Most pictures have a feeling of being bigger than man.
Place- Everything is a place, but the picture has a main focus point. These seem to have more detail. Can be crowds, specific people, place, or things.
